I believe the methodology of throwing acid was inappropriate. I am against whaling as well, however, that sort of approach is not something that I can support.

Violence is an innapropriate form of civil disobedience.

I'm none too fond of the work Congress has done. Does that mean I can start mailing vials of acid to them? Sad and stupid, all at once.
The mistake in the phrasing of this poll is that you said activists as opposed to terrorists.

And following the example set by any story about the minutemen I think it's safe to say anyone who favors environmental regulations is itching to throw acid in innocent peoples faces. I hope you are all ashamed of yourselves.

Mojo: certain users like to take the actions of an extreme minority of fringe anti-illegal immigration types and use that to label anyone who opposes illegal immigration as a racist/murderer. Unfortunately those people aren't joking, in their twisted minds there is no difference between opposing illegal immigration and supporting genocide. My comment was an attack on this mentality. Obviously it's not fair to call anyone who cares about the environment a terrorist, despite these actions, and the ELF terrorists, and the murder and intimidation of scientists, loggers, et al. But I'm afraid the analogy will be lost on my target audience.
Which issue of Scientific American did this come from?
Applerod- I got the extract from the website of the Scientific American. The article was written by Elaine Lies, published on February 09, 2007. Date Accessed was on February 09, 2007. The title of the article was 'Japan outraged by clash with anti-whalers'.
