CAPTAIN KIRK AND SPOCK... GAY LOVERS?

what if :
[+] joke ballot by FiddleFaddleOnLSD
ACTIVE Mon Feb 12, 07 - Sat Dec 27, 08

Although Kirk seems to be a ladies man, the woman, is always out of the picture at episode's end. Whatever apparent connection there is, it is always fleeting and superficial. A lot of the time, it really isn’t a human female but an android, alien-in-human-form, etc. He has had several times in his life to marry someone but he always ends up spurning them. And Spock… (a confirmed bachelor like Kirk) has also turned down marriage to a woman. Remember Amok Time?
Have either of them lied, cheated, stole, or sacrificed their reputations and career for a woman? No. For each other? YES!!
In the monetization of Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979), uses the Vulcan word t'hy'la twice in referring to Kirk. The meaning of the word? “friend, brother, lover”.

So, are they gay lovers?

I seem to remember Kirk saying something like, "Yes, Spock, A woman. Warm. Soft." Campy but I liked the show at the time.

On a starship where they let an Asian guy drive and a black lady sits and looks at a screen without yelling at it, I guess anything is possible.

Though, now that I think about it, Spock *was* trying to hold Kirk's hand at the end of "Wrath of Khan".

That is the stupidest thing in the world...take a 1960's TV show that cannot show sex and take a male/male friendship as gay...stupidity at its best!

The above is not exactly true w/regard to the women in Kirk's life. Watch the episode where Kirk is on trail (season 1). At the end, Kirk and the lady lawyer (former lover) leave together in the closing minute. I watched the original airing of STAR TREK back in the late 60's. You should know that in those years, TV programs were heavily monitored and "hanky-panky" between any 2 genders may have been cut by the network, the sponsors, or even Desilu, who owned the show. I just think that there is too much read into something that is probably not there. However, I must admit that I have not seen the STAR TREK films and cannot reply to anything here.
