Japan comes under increasing pressure to stop / cut down on its whaling industry. Whaling is big business in Japan, as well as being an old cultural tradition. The majority of the international community want to stop the Japanese whaling trade, because of a fall in whale populations. Do the Japanese have the right to hunt for whales, or is the international community right in trying to stop Japanese whaling?

What skylab said. Plus, most Japanese, when polled, say they hate the stuff. They just want to keep the tradition going to be bloody-minded.

Times change. The blessing of the human mind is that we are able to adapt to a changing present in order to manipulate the future. I, for one, heavily hope that the biggest animals on the planet are not wiped out due to an aged tradition.

It's a resource that belong to the world, and the world made it very clear that we want to conserve it.
