Two years is a long time. A lot of damage can be done. I still don't understand why there isn't even a mention of impeachment for this maniac and the real president, Cheney.

support impeachment by signing the online petition @ www.afterdowningstreet.org/petition http://www.petitiononline.com/ippopb/petition.html http://www.democrats.com/peoplesemailnetwork/88 Also, email the Representative for your State and direct them to begin the impeachment process @ http://www.visi.com/juan/congress/ http://www.webslingerz.com/jhoffman/congress-email.html They won't do what you never told them you wanted them to do.

Nothing new here. Signing statements, redefining torture, extending the Patriot Act...
Lets put this in perspective. Many presidents have used executive orders to implement all kinds of things they knew they could not get through congress. While I don't agree with Bush's strategy or what he wants to do, perhaps you could explain why Jimmy Carter signed Executive Order 12148. This executive order was only the most massive power grab in history by the executive branch. It allows the implementation of a dictatorship complete with forced labor, seizure or all property and resources and martial law. It is completely contradictory to everything found in the constitution. Anything Bush has done - even everything combined is far less than the authorization of a dictatorship. So, if Bush decides to become a dictator, he should thank Saint Carter for giving him the authority to do so.
Excellent Ballot Cranky I don't know what Jimmy Carter has to do with the Ballot question FFLSD, However, I am certain that you and Black_Larva/TNG believe you can make the connection I have to go with what mojo, passiveson and skylab added (they answered the ballot question unlike two others who decided to travel out into left field) Anyway, Bush and his croonies has always operated under a dictationship system, he will continue to do so until he leaves the Oval Office...Bush suffers from the entitlement mentality and his supports aren't too far behind that idiot
Correction:...entitlement mentality and his *supporters*...

Should I start investing in brown shirts, or just move to Canada now?
I thought you believed Bush couldn't think cranky...
" I don't know what Jimmy Carter has to do with the Ballot question FFLSD" He has a lot to do with it. Anything Bush has done so far pales in comparison to that executive order. It was the biggest power grab in US history. BTW I forgot something - it also allows for people to be held indefinitely without trial. AND like I said... you may think Bush is a dictator but if he decides to actually take control as one, I am quite sure he will use that order as giving him the authority to do so. BBC, you just cannot accept the FACT that Jimmy Carter is just as corrupt as any of the others who have been president since. Take off the blinders. He may have done some good things but he also has a lot of black marks next to his name. A review of history would show you that. I'm quite sure though that you have been thoroughly indoctrinated in the cult of Jimmy Carter. I used to be in it but I broke free when I learned more about him. So Bush is a dictator? Who gave him the right to impose martial law? Carter. That is clearly relevant.
