Voted : True
Seems to be so I guess.
Voted : indeterminable from data provided
Though this evidence would certainly look to support your theory. How efficiently those hours are used is another matter of course.
Voted : True
True, although I'm sure many of us would be lazier if we could.
Voted : True
American's step up, that's why we're world LEADERS in military technology and force, and pioneers in medicine and industries.
Its easy to be world leaders when you have a huge country with massive resources, and a relatively new economy in world terms, unhindered by previous economic development and "sticky" capital.
I doubt its easy to be a world leader. The figures do not surprise me. America and Japan are a lot more capitalistic in approach to their economy than Europe is. Though these figures do not necessarily mean Americans work harder than Europeans because they feel guilty about leisure time. It could mean that lower wages force longer hours, or it could mean that you have less national holidays, or it could mean that us Europeans are a bunch of lazy scroungers. Who knows?
A Country size and the amount of resources is irrelevent when a country that expands it's influence into "Colonization" of foriegn territories, suppressing the indigenous peoples and exploiting the natural resources for the father land. It's all about innovation, creativity, prioritizing, investment and thinking into tomorrow, not bitching, relying or waiting on others or making excuses for the sad state of today. Oh, did I mention integrity?
Voted : True
It seems so. Which would explain part of the reason for our disparity in wealth and power with europe.
Voted : indeterminable from data provided
Doesn't really explain why your cars are so shit though, does it?

^ Very well stated
"A Country size and the amount of resources is irrelevent when a country that expands it's influence into "Colonization" of foriegn territories, suppressing the indigenous peoples and exploiting the natural resources for the father land" What, like using the depraved acts of a few individuals as an excuse to invade unpopular sovereign states for their oil? Oil is still a natural resource the last tiem I checked. And the lst time I checked, an AWFUL lot of Iraqi oil has been designated to American companies.. "It's all about innovation, creativity, prioritizing, investment and thinking into tomorrow, not bitching, relying or waiting on others or making excuses for the sad state of today." Who does that exactly? Please, enlighten me. "Oh, did I mention integrity?" As an American, you dont really have the right to, do you? Not in reference to governments/economies anyway.
"suppressing the indigenous peoples" Native Americans.
I was refering to America as well. We, as a capitalist country are advantagous and consistantly exploit the weakness' and resources of people everywhere. However, we contribute trillions of dollars in aide annually to underdeveloped countries and to the UN. We loan money for industisalization and provide technologies to the world. Where do you suppose the technology for your nuclear power plants originated? We are probably the worst of the worst as far as Iraq and Afghanistan are concerned. That wasn't a choice made by the American people. In defense of the latter, I will express that a majority of the American people do not support the current policies in Iraq, and think it's wrong. *not bitching, relying or waiting on others or making excuses for the sad state of today." Who does that exactly? Please, enlighten me. * *Its easy to be world leaders when you have a huge country with massive resources, and a relatively new economy in world terms, unhindered by previous economic development and "sticky" capital* Sounds like you making excuses and bitching to me. There are low population States in America that have poor economies, high unemployment and few resources, but as a union, productive States carry the burden and no one thinks twice about it. Katrina and 9/11, we all sent support and worked to accommadate those affected. As for American Cars, You get what you pay for. Ever try to buy a part for an import? I've owned a Sterling, it's a piece of crap (though I loved my girls 70 Triumph Spitfire, Cool ass car!). I've owned a Mazda RX-7, Loved it too, little rocket, but I couldn't afford to maintenance it and no one rebuilds rotory engines around here. You guys saying American cars are crap, I agree some are. What do you compare it to for better quality? I didn't create the statistics in the ballot so if you have a problem with the figures, perhaps you might want to try and improve your position on the charts and quit busting my balls.
Hey, I merely suggested that Americas been very fortunate with its natural resources, lack of historical stagnancy to inhibit progress etc, in response to your somewhat jingoistic proclamation of; "American's step up, that's why we're world LEADERS in military technology and force, and pioneers in medicine and industries" as im sure any economics student will tell you; these things DO matter to a countries development (or lack thereof). And I dont get what you think Im bitching and moaning about exactly? Europes hardly a third world country. And like I said previously, these statistics only reflect one aspect of how "hard working" a societies citizens are.
"we contribute trillions of dollars in aide annually to underdeveloped countries" trillions? wow!
Yeah, Trillions in aid, loans and foriegn investments. *And like I said previously, these statistics only reflect one aspect of how "hard working" a societies citizens are.* *Though this evidence would certainly look to support your theory. How efficiently those hours are used is another matter of course.* Stated somewhat dispairagingly if you ask me. Aren't you implying American Workers are inefficient and wasting time on the job? (So much for my "jingoistic" response!) *As an American, you dont really have the right to, do you? Not in reference to governments/economies anyway.* (Addressing Integrity) Certainly! America has it's short comings, but Historically, America and Americans in general, possess integrity and good character, so quit making this personal and constantly putting us down. I'm not interested in what economic students will tell me, they know even less than economists, and like weather persons, fortune tellers and psychics, they're usually wrong. Economies are not fixed. Stagnation is the result of doing the same thing attempting to get a different result. A pond stagnates if it isn't recycled with fresh water (innovation). Overhaul the system. Redistibute the wealth (make some sacrafices). Manipulate the market (break even in one process to increase the profits in another; Example: sell undeveloped real estate at cost so your construction and building supply manufacturing and sales markets soar), lower interest rates, publicize proprietary (patented) technologies to encourage investment and new business ventures. Invest in people (yourselves) and other countries for future prosperity (like trust funds and retirement accounts), don't anticipate or expect immediate results or success in everything you do. Point is, try something different. I don't propose to have the answer, I just offer this for perspective. I admit I don't know your plight (I may no know anything at all), so I hope maybe something here is helpful. ramaDUNG and BBC, is there a point to this spin?
How do you get the red and blue to come up in your comments passive?
"Yeah, Trillions in aid, loans and foriegn investments." "we contribute trillions of dollars in aide ANNUALLY to underdeveloped countries" I think its only fair at this point to request some official figures showing this to be the case, if you will. Considering the plural used, the lowest estimate of your claim would mean America giving a sixth of its annual gnp to underdeveloped countries. "Aren't you implying American Workers are inefficient and wasting time on the job?" No, im implying there are factors that could be included in any comprehensive review of how "hard working" an economies citizens are, that arent covered by the statistics provided.
Oh, i forgot; "so quit making this personal and constantly putting us down" I made one comment that wasnt particularly insulting, in response to your somewhat boastful previous comment. Lets not blow this out of proportion.
Alright man It's a guestimation, I don't have an actual figure, but it's hardly worth debate.
Passiveson: yes, I detest these stupid "our nationality is better than your nationality" ballots. Besides which, there isn't really much good to say about American cars. The quality isn't the best and the power output is often atrocious for the size of engine (why does a Camaro with a 5 litre engine and manual transmission only put out 215 bhp??? European and Japanese cars can manage more than that with engines of less than 2 litres...) - not to mention abysmal fuel economy. But again, I only present this argument to point out the fallacy inherent in the premise of this ballot. Long working hours don't equal quality, and don't even necessarily indicate hard work is being done.
They certainly spend more time at work. (Suckers!)
