Monetary crimes/fraud should not be considered as violent crime, and should receive appropriately more lenient sentences (though still significant)

The death penalty is reserved for dangerous criminals who are a threat to the public safety and who are likely to continue to commit capital crimes. Insider trading is not and should not be a capital crime.
What next, death penalty for purjury?

There's nothing wrong with protecting yourself. The person who recieves insider information and uses it has done nothing wrong. The executive who hides that information from shareholders has, but that is not a matter for criminal court.
