Personally, that so-called correlation does not make sense to me. Perhaps those who push for this kind of argument could explain it to me.
Voted : No, not necessarily
No ofcourse not but people who engage in such arguments use guilt by association to silence their opposition. It's a cheap tactic that's been around since the days of Socrates (the philosopher).
Voted : No, not necessarily
you're right on again socrates. we've all seen it. same with "gay." said user has decided to label another user as being "gay" and then procedes to make totally biased and bigoted comments about that user -- mixing in derogotory comments about "gay" "jewish" "germanic" and others. totally out of line that this goes on. what's astonishing is that it's tolerated.
Voted : No, not necessarily
Of course not.

Well... if you are named cranky or BBC it must you are and therefore your opinion is not worth as much as theirs.
And of course the perpetrator will realize upon reading this the error of their irrational logic, apologise and never do it again, right? Human nature say no, they're going to ignore this at a glance, giggle and diligently search for advantagous opportunities to esculate the said offense even more. But then you already know that and it's what you expect. Really, why even bother with it? Though this tactic is not in error (of reasoning) it is equal in intent. You're taunting them. If it flies both ways LCD (and other maintainers) won't censure them when they do it (no matter how bigoted or wrong it is). I'm not saying you are wrong. But I don't think it works toward rectify their transgressions. (let them hang themselves by not engaging with them). Hell, they might even stop, but I don't know.
Fiddle: Are you going to go around and slander me in EVERY forum? I've noticed that you've even gone onto my old ballots and started in on me there. I just put up a quiz about the inventor of the cat door. Why don't you go to that ballot and accuse me of being cruel to gay, Jewish cats? I guess, at this point, all I can say is:
passiveson- "And of course the perpetrator will realize upon reading this the error of their irrational logic, apologise and never do it again, right?" - Oh, you'd be surprised at the methodologies that can be used to make one see one's own errors. I don't care whether they admit the consistency of the whole thing to me. More likely their confronting their own sense of reason and logic with themselves in reaction to this.
cranky, I came across one old ballot of yours so stop distorting and hyperventilating. BTW, why are you so highly sensitive when something even remotely (and I mean really remotely) my indicate you are anti-semitic? You go into almost as big a hyperactive fit as you do with herzog.
Uh, it was actually two ballots that you happened to come across, Fiddle. I was hoping that this wasn't going to become a trend.
And Fiddle: I would argue that there is no one who is more highly sensitive on the issue of Jews and Israel than you, or who is quicker to start accusing people of anti-Semitism.
Are you going to go around and slander me in EVERY forum? by cranky on Sun Mar 04, 07 10:58am you fool. you mean like you have done to herzog relentlessly? what's the matter hypocrit -- you feel justified in defaming herzog and others with terms of "racist" and "bigot" every chance you get, but somehow you should be exempt? get a life. you continue to do it. tough crap if you don't like that people are now giving back to you what you've been doing all along. are you ever mortified by your own blatant double standard?

No man is an island, Entire of itself. Each is a piece of the continent, A part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less. As well as if a promontory were. As well as if a manner of thine own Or of thine friend's were. Each man's death diminishes me, For I am involved in mankind. Therefore, send not to know For whom the bell tolls, It tolls for thee. John Donne Meditation 17 Devotions upon Emergent Occasions

I have friends who work to protect dogs and cats from abuse, but these people are not dogs and cats, not even by association.

I am more mortified by your constant blatant accusation against those who would dare criticize you Kev24 and when doing so, is accused of being homophobic... When I say you are pathetic and disgusting, it is because you are, not because you are a twinkle toes, nice chatting with you twinkles Oh, and I haven't forgotten about you TheNUTGirl, aka Black_Larva...You really should consider investing in a personality, you are such a bore
^It would seem that Herzog first merited being targeted by accusations and criticism, being constantly accused of racism (of course the comments don't stop there), besides racist, there are a number of other choice durogatory names that he's subjected to, though he has never directed a word toward the attackers that I've ever seen, that would justify the attack. It just seems rather hypocritical to pretense bigotry against Herzog of racism or of living an alternative lifestyle, by using overtly bigoted comments in reference to Hezog and Kev24. How's it any different if not actually worse? It comes across as being a bigot. Why attack Kev? Because he found the choice of words offensive? And what of others on the site that are offended by the condescention of language? I can use this example to make my point : Fiddle; Are you going to go around and slander me in EVERY forum? Yet, this is what's done constasntly to Herzog isn't it? I'm curious why the same accusations of bigotry are repetitiously slung toward Herzog when, while slinging, it's expressed with bigoted names and a attitude? I'm trying to understand how that's intended to be of value? I guess it's my point that if you're going to talk and act like a bigot when attacking someone you believe he's a bigot, whatever you hope to accomplish is negated you are perceived to be the bigot. I'm not making an accusation against you, but that's how it looks. Basically, it comes down to you're offended by bigotry so you resort to hypocracy and bigotry in retaliation, to abuse Herzog and Kev? I don't understand this, would you please explain why this is done? Why attack a lifestyle and offend a lot of gay men and non gay people with this tasteless bitter hatred?
