according to the CNN.com banner, Cheney is "disappointed and saddened" by the conviction of Scooter Libby, his dear friend and subordinate in the CIA spy trial.

Why is he so sad?

Sad, because he took the blame for Cheney, and took one for the team
disappointed, because he thought he could get away with anything
scared, because they will come after him next

Although some on this site would suggest that Cheney has no emotions and infact is a vampire I beg to differ.If he is sad it is because he feels guilty over the whole situation.

I'd be sad if one of my friends were convicted of anything too. So I guess if "sad" really is the emotion Cheney is feeling, then it's probably because the man who was convicted was a friend.

However, I think the name for the emotion the VP's feeling right now is less "sad" and more "angry" that Libby didn't get off. But I won't try to go any further into the inner workings of our Vice President. Makes me scared.
