Personally, I have no idea what Kurt Cobain is doing at #7 but there you go.

You would think that after almost 50 years of Bob Dylan singing and playing harmonica, you would see some improvement.

They left out Freddie Mercury and Phil Lynott, for two. Jagger, I've *never* been impressed with as a singer, and Cobain rates as "so-so". Won't argue the rest.

I heard about this list. They nailed Mariah Carey and Celine Dion basically saying that just because you can sing to levels only dogs can hear doesn't mean you should. Maybe why they left off Freddy. Ummmm Elvis had a very pleasing voice as was Marvin Gaye's. I don't get chills from Elvis. I'd have to still give it to Freddy Mercury. Listen to Somebody to Love... it's perfect.

Like some others said, leaving Freddie off the list is practically criminal. Elton John should be on the list too, and Jeff Buckley higher up.

My top three would be Freddy Bono Marvin Gaye and Bono. Sting would make the top 10.

Elvis was ok, but it's not the list I would have made.

The Stones are great, but vocals aren't one of their strong points.

As for Kurt Cobain, WTF?

Marvin Gaye is not on the list, so the list is completely rubbish. Personally I think Enya is a brilliant singer, she doesn't get enough credit for her work.

Stevie Wonder, David Bowie, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holliday.....pfft.
by Robo_Christ on Thu Mar 08, 07 6:39am [+]

A few of the people mentioned above do make the list. I think Freddie M was #47.
