Nature always wins, nurturing is only good for babies, toddlers and small kids, after that some tough love is what they need.
I was spanked and smacked as a kid, but it knocked sense into me.
Punishment is always good, because when people are really screwed on how to determine right and wrong, a good smack in the jaw everytime they steal a car or something can give them that connection.
If you spoil your children too much and let them get away with alot, they won't know what is wrong guaranteed. So nature is good, nurture is only good when you let your children know they are loved from time to time.

Both, it is a combo of both. I learned this in Psych 101/102. Eh abnormal psych is soooo much more interesting though.

Everyone responds to nature/nurture differently, there is not a pre-disposed behavior to make you cope with negative effect/s of one aspect more than the other.

Sometimes people just end up screwed up even with perfect lives in both nature & nurture.

Though people are born with certain innate characteristics of varying degrees of severity or significance, it is 'nurture' combined with a person's natural "wiring" that determines who they are and how they behave (like LadyS mentioned).
I'm using the word nurture in a liberal sense. Nurture would also include every experience someone has, not the least of which is socialization.

A few wrong words can obliterate a child's chance for joy or stability later on.
