Second hand cigarette smoke is the least of our worries when you can walk outside and actually see the air that you're breathing in any large city.
Tobacco and second hand smoke is not as big of a problem that it's made out to be in my opinion. There are too many who havent experienced it's adverse effects for it to be a guaranteed cause of them. And not all of the many children born today with respiratory problems are born into smoking families.
Not saying it can't be a contributing factor when in combination with other factors, but it alone is not as detrimental as it's made out to be I think.
It's not there for your health. And tobacco is the one cancer hazard that's voluntary, at least for those who smoke. You can't stop breathing because the air is bad.
I don't care what the rhetoric is, if you light on up next to me and let that smoke waft into my face, expect me to stand up, point my rear end right at your face and let out the biggest, smelliest fart you have ever had the misfortune to experience.
One good turn deserves another.

I just think it's all bullshit, how quickly in almost 30 years everyone goes from personal time-killing habits to hating and harassing smokers over nothing, and I mean nothing. You know how many gullible assholes got knocked out by me bitching about a little cigarette smoke? It's funny when they run away from me too, they have to catch their breath from all the pollution and smog in the air.
I never have a problem smoking outside of cities, like in towns or campsites or the rez. In fact, it's almost as if smokers only get picked on in cities where everyone thinks their breathing problems is caused by smokers.
And LCD, I'd rather smell smoke than fart any day of the week.
My dad's a smoker of 30 years, he's still fine. But when he passes away in the next 10-20 years, I'll miss the smell of cigarettes, so much I'll probably start up again.
The point is, since I've quit smoking, my breathing is still shitty, and that's cause I live in a city.
Stop picking on smokers!
If there wasn't a pollution problem to begin with, then maybe a proper study could be done to see how badly cigarettes actually hurt people, but it's hard when coal and oil plants and such have been around as equally long dumping megatonnes of smoke in the air as opposed to the tens of pounds put up by smokers.
smokers are fucking stupid. no 2 ways about it, they're god damned idiots. what else do you call a person who inhales burning tar and cyanide covered leaves, spews it around for everyone else, suffers through tasteless food, bleeding when brushing their teeth, breathlessness, pains, and weakened immune systems, while paying a significant chunk of their income for the privilege, money which goes to fund the tobacco companies and perpetuate their own misery and that of others, just so they can impress other brainless people?
what lie would that be exactly? Thats smokers are an ignorant bunch of twats who dont care about anybody but themselves? I'm sick of going to the pub and coming home stinking of smoke. I'm sick of breathing in the smoke of others when I have made a conscious decision not to smoke. Why should I breath in your smoke? Whether it causes cancer or not, you shouldn't force your disgusting habit on me.

How many smokers could possibly put that much cigarette smoke in the air that same second?

How much of the same chemicals come spouting out any smokestack per square inch per second dickheads!?
Do you all really think that smoking is the reason cancer pops up so fast.
What about people living in towns, rural communities, and areas AWAY from smogged up cities. I notice some farmers smoked for 50 years, their pushing 90 for fuck sake, but their still alive. I also notice when I'm out of the city, I can finish a pack in an evening, and wake up being able to take deep breaths still without hacking up phlegm.
No one makes the connection that pollution is probably speeding up the problems smoking might actually have on the body.
And what's the best excuse people have to hate on smokers if they don't have any scientific backup?
It's annoying, it's stinky, it's rude to people around them that have to breathe the same pollution filled city atmosphere?!

Well my great auntie never drank, smoked, partied, did drugs, or put any harmful substance in her body. She lived in a city though.
She died last year from cancer, it took two months to kill her and she was only 54. So are you really going to keep telling me that it's all smoking still?

Your just letting the real "smokers" get away with filling your lungs on a daily basis from tonnes of pollution.
Before you let your superiors tell you what's what, get an education in science first fuck!
And don't go depending on your surgeon general, his job is to find out little problems like this to help his government divert your attention away from real problems.
Ask him to do a study on pollution, then ask him to do another study on smoking, but not in the city, get him to study the effects of smoking in a little town close to the north pole or something, or any town that's 300 miles from any polluting city, then you'll see that your all just losing your tolerance again for a group of people because your gov't gave you a "good enough" reason to.
Another fascist government did this before too, they had Jews to blame for the worlds problems.
And smokers don't force their habit!
I started because I just wanted to, not by influence, not by advertisements, just cause I felt like it. If smokers do push their habit, beat 'em up for me, they make us all look bad! We have the right to smoke as you all have the right to not go and share the same room or area we're in! Stupid fucks!
If you let a smoker's habit bother and disgust you so much, then you've got way bigger problems than the actual smokers themselves. Your letting it become part of your life to hate on them.
And when I was smoking, I was not selfish about anything, for one obvious reason; If smoking kills, why would a selfish, self-absorbed, narcissist who loves themselves so much keep smoking if they know it's gonna kill them?
Because they don't care!
We all gotta die someday, and obviously smokers made their choice to try and settle it sooner. I know I don't want to live past 70 and see diapers again, and be treated like a baby because my senility is starting to fade. Fuck that! If you dream so much about living to 90 when you can't do shit, be my guest, you had your chance to smoke and avoid that.
