FOX NEWS PRESIDENT JOKES ABOUT OBAMA AS TERRORIST

Fox News President made this joke during a speech at the Radio & TV News Directors Awards ceremony.

"And it is true that Barack Obama is on the move. I don't know if it's true that President Bush called Musharraf and said, 'Why can't we catch this guy?'"

In response: “Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and the Nevada Democratic Party announced today that they are backing out of a Fox News-sponsored presidential debate in August following Fox President Roger Ailes’s recent remarks comparing Democratic Senator Barack Obama to al Qaeda terrorist Osama Bin Laden. Fox News did not answer calls seeking reaction to the decision.”

Do you agree that the Democratic Party is within its rights to pull out of a Fox News sponsored debate when the president of the rightwing, pro-Republican, anti-Democratic network is making terrorist jokes about one of its presidential candidates?

Yes
No
Here are my thoughts...
My god, the Democrats are bigger crybabies than the Republicans

Definitely.

Just imagine the hue and cry if the shoe were on the other foot. (E.G. if someone like Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert made a joke about Bush being a terrorist.)

The "I was JUST joking, don't you have a sense of humor?" denfense is an old line, used by that side often, and you can bet it'll be used in this case. It's used often enough on this website. And the REALLY funny thing is, those who chide you for not having a sense of humor are the first to get their panties in a uproar when the joke is at on them...

"The "I was JUST joking, don't you have a sense of humor?" defense"..
IS a pathetic dodge when what they said that wasn't funny in the first place, just pitiful.

I think it's great when folks like him are so loose-lipped but it's scary that we accept this crap from people now.

LOL.. It really sounded like he was making fun of Bush more than he was Obama. And that's probably why calls were not returned. I don't imagine it's easy for a conservative channel to explain making fun of the president's intelligence.

The Democrats were within their rights to pull out, but I think it's a pretty wimpy move myself.

Besides, it's not like it's worse than anything that's said around here...

Certainly, it's within their right (or would that be their left, no, right is uptight), but it's really a lame move. I see it as an opprotunity to play it to an advantage. Obama can play the racist card, or jest about how slow Bush is ({Bush} said, 'Why can't we catch this guy?) Da ta duh, or at least have a sense of humor anyway. Waaaah

The old puss is seeking a reaction from the members of the Democratic Party, I guess he figues if Ann Coulter can spew the filth she did about John Edwards, what the Fox News President spew is light in comparison 018

I also noticed that several CNN Commentators made a couple of slips when speaking of "Obama" and instead said, "Osama," and of course they apologized profusely 025

I don't know if this latest incident was done intentionally or not, however, I am certain that Barack Osama, Oops! I meant, *Obama* continues to be about his business and consider the source with each incident 023

With Fox News, you see what you get, who cares, people on both sides of the political spectrum will continue to bait each other until someone on either side say something outlandish and it will get bumped to the head of the news line and all the other important matters (like Americans and others continue to die in a war based on a vicious LIE, DARFUR continues to be a living HELL, etc, etc, etc...)will continue to get lost in the pettiness of American Politics 011

Excellent ballot question Cranky 023

After years of watching the Republicans try to cut funding to the generally partisan National Public Radio (and failing miserably) and Dick Cheney refusing interviews with THE NEW YORK TIMES and other moderately left-leaning media outlets in favor of Foxy News, I finally see that the pissy Democrats truly DO have the thinnest skins of all. C'mon, Dems, if Bill O'Reilly has the guts to show up and do an interview with NPR a few days after Al Franken or Tony Blankley can be the regular "token conservatives" on NPR call-in shows and take the predicted abuse, you wussies can put up with one lame, unfunny joke from Roger Ailes.

God, what a bunch of whiny losers! I almost have regained some respect for the necons...almost.
