Time for you to take advantage of her 'desperate situation' And that starts by you unzipping your pants as soon as she gets in the car.

Nice Guys Finish Last! Larry, Think of it this way my friend, If she couldn't get to work she would be earning anything. Since she get's to work, even if she pays $5.00 a day, she still makes more than if she couldn't get to work! Is it unreasonable for a ride share to pay an equal amount each day? She'd have to pay someone to get to work, it may as well be you. People will use you whenever you act like a charity. Tell her "A cab runs $20 or more and she can pay the cost of one cab fare a week ($25) or you're both going to be walking"? Just tell it like it is.
^ She doesnt even work at my job, if that were the case, we both work same place same times I probably wouldn't care, I wouldn't be using anymore gas, but I take her separately twenty miles a day to her employment, but what you say is true, she would either have to take a cab and pay much more or not work.

Not any more, but I did for quite some time. It would have been easier if the person I tried to help was nicer.
Just tell it like it is. Tell this person that you can no longer afford the gas money to go out of your way to take her to work. As a single parent, I've also been on the needy side at times when my car has broke down and I needed a ride to work, but it was usually with a co-worker who lived nearby. Because of all the kind people who have helped me along the way, I always try to do my part to help someone in need if I'm able to. Yet, I've seen some people in the past that I've tried to help, who do take complete advantage and when it starts costing me more than I bargained for... I bail out.

I used to constantly allow myself to be taken advantage of, up to and including my marriage. Just tell her your situation. Compromise if you feel awkward about wanting 50/50. If she gives you $20 a week, you're certainly better off than if you didn't have a passenger at all. I'm saying that as a very weak person. Really you should go 50/50. I've always been taken advantage of.
Kieth, Loan Me $10 Bucks, Could Ya? Larry will Pay ya back on payday. What'da say?

I suggest you: 1. give her a bus schedule. 2. tell her your car is busted, and it will cost $xxx to fix, which you don't have :) 3. fill up the car before you take her, and ask her to fill it back up using her gas card at the end of the day. Let her know what's up, and don't be such a pushover. I suggest you try 1,2,and 3 simultaneously. good luck!
