HAS ANYONE EVER POINTED A LOADED GUN AT YOU?

This happened to me many years ago late at night, driving home on a back road and the next thing I know, I'm being pulled over by a cop for speeding. As soon as I pull over, the cop is yelling at me to put my hands on my head and slowly exit the vehicle. I was freaking out, not knowing why he was acting like this just because I was speeding. He told me not to turn around, but I had to sneak a glance as I was getting out of my car and the cop was crouched down behind the open door of his car and pointing a gun at me!

Have you ever had someone point a loaded gun at you?

That was a bit drastic, did you ask him what his problem was? Maybe he had just had a spat with his wife eh lol.

^Mini, I was too terrified to ask him why he did that. I was just glad that I didn't get shot or something.
After he searched my car, he gave me a speeding ticket and sent me on my way. I cried all the way home!

A good friend of mine who read this said you should have reported this idiot.

I AGREE.

RWS, if you weren't fleeing, this cop has committed a VERY serious violation. You should have filed a complaint against him!

Once in Mexico I was driving around w/ my Senorita Mexicana and I came around a blind curve in the Road and ran straight into a police ambush set up for some smugglers..twenty-five M-16s in the hands of Children all pointed at me...and I'm drunk..so I gets out of the truck thinking I'm going to reason with 'em and they all drop into Combat Posture and start advancing, screaming at me..and then another time I'm at a casino in Moscow, and they're 'Shaking us Down' for waepons and I reach into my Pocket to show I'm carrying my trusty Swiss-army Knife (pulling it out of my left Pocket with my Right hand to show I mean no Foolishness) and half a dozen Pistols are instantly pointed at my Head..and then one time off the Coast of India...but I'm boring you so, we'll save that one for another day and then there's the time we trespassed a missle Base in North Dakota..hmmmm lemme think a bit,I know I've forgotten some..

Not that bad. As a teen I was attacked by a cop for no apparent reason, but not a gun. I don't think they like teenagers. Of course, it's been many years since I've had such problems.

Cops are sometimes over zealous and sometimes just paranoid.

this cop has committed a VERY serious violation

Nuck, Depending on the circumstances, this aproach is standard when there is a matching vehicle discription or investigation . Also, if at night when the officer is alone and back up is not immediately available.

Though the search was unjustifiable absent a warrant. Unless it is "search incident to arrest, he has no authority to enter the vehicle.

Well if a cop pulls a gun he has to have a damn good reason.

By another fine upstanding member of law enforcement. I think it's the only way some of them can get a boner.
by _Beelzebubba on Mon Mar 12, 07 8:27am [+]

Nuck, this cop had no reason to pull a gun on me. I was only about 18 at the time and I did consider making a complaint, but was worried about what would happen if I got stopped by this cop again if I did make a complaint.
Looking back at it now, I wish I would have filed a complaint against this cop.
by RunsWithScissors on Mon Mar 12, 07 1:13pm [+]

^ I wasn't saying he did. I was responding to Passiveson's comment. I meant that cops can't pull out their guns unless they have reason to believe that the person they're dealing with is potentially dangerous.
