It depends. If you have the time to devote to teaching and training them, then yes. It's always a big plus if the bird likes you too. Alot of times, male birds wont like female people and female birds wont like men. We had a parrot when I was a kid who could talk a little bit and do some neat tricks. I'd like to get another one, but I just don't have the time to devote to taking care of a bird.

We had to get rid of the biting squawking thing! I'll never get another pooping bird if my life depended on it

I had a really cute lovebird named Disco. As most birds are though, he was a chirper. Sometimes he would get really loud and I couldn't concentrate so I had to put a towel over his cage and he would stop, which I felt bad about. I also felt bad about keeping him in a cage to begin with. They're really cool animals; just think about how the bird would fit in with your living situation.
