Now I don't know about all this housing stuff, but the upper peninsula is by far the best smelling place I have ever been.
Indications the militias planning an uprising, or maybe a plan to turn the whole State into a Civilian Work Camp.... er, an emergency relocation center? lol Probably proportional to any other area with a Recessing Economy.
Voted : Yes, it's really that bad
Michigan is dead economically. DO NOT COME HERE unless you're independently wealthy. And if you are independently wealthy, there are nicer places than Michigan.
The houses aren't quite that cheap. A small but decent house usually runs about $50-60k.

Yeah it is lol :(

Eww, yeah it's bad.
So that's what the Muck Fichigan thing was about.
Only a house in the middle of the ghetto would be cheaper than a car.
Well...it's getting ghetto here in CA too because of all the mexicans but hoises are outrageous here, crazy insanely outrageous, even IN the ghetto
Voted : No, it's better than what they make it out to be
Especially the U.P., and especially Marquette and St. Ignace...at least those are the places I like to go...
Then again, I've heard the taxes are pretty disgusting compared to neighboring states. I have been told this is why Toledo (where I currently live) has no sizable suburbs north of the Ohio-Michigan border. In fact, you drive north from Toledo, you're in city one minute, and the next, you're literally in the middle of nowhere... All things equal, though, I love the Upper Peninsula...Except in the winter, which I'm told is about two months longer than mine...
