I do believe the spirituality is good for the soul of certain people, if only those people can take the message without blowing other peopele to bits.

Partisan anything unopposed is nothing short of thinking like Hitler. Everyone has a contribution to make in the world and no one has the patent on perfection.

Religion shapes things like oppression and wars, but it is not the cause of violence or the infliction of suffering. Intraspecies violence is a human characteristic, and religion merely provides an outlet for it. If there was no religion people would just use another variety of belief systems, such as politics, to justify cruel or inhumane acts. Even things like science can be twisted to suit reprehensible acts.
I say this knowing full well the destruction attributed to religions. Some of these attributions are valid and some aren't. Those that aren't include the destruction wrought by misinterpretations of a religion which stray so far from its core beliefs that it's the people (or nature itself) which should be indicted; not the belief system. Fanaticism knows no bounds. It would be interesting to see the belief in supernatural forces ordaining the fate of humans and humankind completely eliminated though.
