Yeah he is ok. Last i heard he was having bleeding where they took the bullets out so he was sent to the VA hospital and he was sitting there waiting, i should call him to check on him. Anyway's he took one to the rib and one somewhere else, this just happened so i don't know everything, he was all doped up when he called. I swear that man will live forever!
So he's ok, but if those kids are free and he's still alive and kicking when they get out, God help them. I'll be worried for THEM

There's a high probability that they will both plea out to first degree assault and be sentenced to a maximum security juvenile detention center until age 21. No doubt they'll claim self defense and be given liberal consideration because of the intimidating stature of the victim.
While they're in, they'll become even worse gangstas, nurturing a broad association within that element, and upon release, be even worse criminals than they were when they shot someone.

On a serious note, I bet he used the N-word to provoke them (not that it justifies them shooting him) but sometimes you got to watch your mouth in certain situations or bad things happen.
I hope your father in law is recovering well. I can't believe he was shot while walking in a mall - that's horrible.

Those two poor kids are just victims of society, victims of an oppressive society run by "da man", who are so poor and oppressed they have no option but to go around shooting old men at malls.
Presumably they are going to be tried for a "hate" crime, as their victim was a different ethnicity from them, and they made unmistakably racist comments to him beforehand?
Or does that law just apply when the victims are black?

My prayers are going out to your father-in-law.
Doctordraw i am wondering the same thing. Is it as bad to be called a "old ass cracka" (yes, they started it, he is too old to start a fight) or a whatever he said to them, i don't knowexactly but still, you don't go shooting people in a mall, i just know they started it and there is witnesses, the boys were tackled by citizens!
I tried calling him and i only got his voice mail, which is scary because last we heard he was bleeding through the stiched wounds and he IS old, and he usually would have caled me back by now.
They will get murder if he dies...
It will be horrible if he dies, my husband isn't used to deaths in his family, and when MY brother died, jesse was distraught. So....wish us well, and thank you.

Um ... if I got the story right, THEY started it. Whatever he said back, that fact stands. Also -- hello?? -- they SHOT him. Personally, I don't give a shit what he said to them, given the circumstances. They meted out a double slur -- about age and race -- to a guy who has served in our country's military.
I hope he recovers completely. Please give him my best regards.

Hey everyone, incase anyone comes back to read this. He is doing fine, he just hurts ofcourse and is putting salve on the stitches where they took the bullets out, but he's ok!
I told my father in law i don't think he is ever meant to die! Concidering he was a navy seal in a 7 man team and only two of them survived and all the crap he's been through! lol
I swear he's got 9 lives!
