It contains some of the most amazing images I've ever seen. How they get some of those shots is a mystery to me. Maybe they use a colonoscopy camera.

I've seen all 11. Make sure you watch the BBC version with David Attenborough. The American version has Sigourney Weaver narrating. Eew.

Regarding the pictures, a lot of the episodes have a "planet earth diaries" thing at the end that shows a lot about how they did the camera shots.

I'd much rather be listening to David Attenborough. Perhaps I should buy the DVD box set.

I normally will not watch tv but I saw every episode of Planet Earth.
I figure that's a couple hours of commercials I got but it was still worth it, it was beautiful!

It came out a few years ago here, and I was truly fascinated by it.

Buy the DVD with David Attenborough, it will be worth it.

On contemplation, how patronising was it that the producers thought the American public needed a familiar accent to fully connect with the narrative?

The voice of a celebrated naturalist versus a woman who has spent her career fighting aliens with acid for blood..

Hmm, its a toughy....
