It's behavior unbecoming a human being. He has a job to do. That is to investigate, and report. Not psycho-analyze or cast judgement on a person's family who was thousands of miles away when the incident occurred. He has a right to privately think whatever he wants about the people; but, my guess is he's trying to divert attention from the fact that as a sense of asinine "obligation" he CAN'T report the facts; or, in the case of incompetency, he is UNABLE to report the facts. Given the first scenario, the family would be justified in pursuing it through Civil Court. Given the second scenario, the Army should have REPLACED him long ago. What difference does it make about the "moral stature" of the young man (soldier)? And by all accounts, he was a really patriotic kid. He could have been screwing all the people in the villages, for all we should care. The only questions the "investigator" should be answering are as follows: Was the "friendly fire" deliberate? And, if it was deliberate, then-- Is there reasonable evidence to support the idea that the soldier was both insubordinate and endangering the lives of the other members of his platoon in his insubordinate acts?

I'd say that the Army needs a "don't ask, don't tell" policy governing religion, too.

Another Christian Taliban from the good 'ol US of A.
if telling yourself little white lies helps you deal with death - then so be it - but some of us deal with death as the ending that it is. It is a heart-breaking sorrow to lose a loved one, and if believing you'll be re-united in some glorious resurrection helps you cope, well i can't fault you - we all must find ways to cope. However, it is as the preacher preaches - if one does not believe in Jesus - how can this death have meaning?? well perhaps that IS the reality of it - death has no meaning - it is simply death - cold, hard, final and without mercy. So live your life well - in joy and with gratitude.
and screw you religious self-righteous jerks who think you are better than everyone else because you choose to delude yourself
