COMMENTS:
Not until people here get over their blind trust of "our great leaders"
It's like pandoras box. once its open it cannot be shut. your going the course whether you like it or not. to many lies over to many years ends in a re-examination of yourself. and its not good. you have destroyed the lives of so many with your greed its now coming back to haunt you. your still doing it. selfishly putting your profits before the good of humanity. i know i seem like im saying this to win an argument but im not. the USA has so much to answer for. people are starving to death right now because of your governments (which you voted for) foreign policy. I could go on and on about why america deserve to be hated but im not sure any of you want to hear it (shit most of you will either not understand it or deny it)
Voted : What's normal ?
Exactly what is normal for the USA and "normal" from whose perspective? Excellent ballot BTW...
Very helpful answer Quirk. Thanks for sharing. Not. Your reply is self-serving, obnoxious, hypocritical and not in any way helpful, logical or reasonable. I could go on, but s*it, you will either not understand it or deny it.
For example, you speak of "you" as if the United States was one entire entity of one mind and will. Absurd. I want to ask you this question: As an example, it's safe to say that Saddam Husein was a very ruthless, corrupt and brutal dictator, right? Right. Would you then say that the Iraqi people are getting back what they deserve because of the actions of Saddam Husein and his government because after all...the people never revolted and overthrew him? So according to your logic, Iraq is one entity that thinks, acts and reacts collectively as one. Let's look at China. They are huge polluters. They threaten to reclaim Taiwan. They oppress Tibet. They oppress freedoms for all their people. They arrest people for little or no reason and those people just disappear, never to be heard from again. So should we apply your morally righteous and pios judgement and say that all of China...from every newborn baby to every old person, is universally guilty and therefore, subject to some kind of cosmic judgement and punishment? Sick. Where exactly are you from Quirk? You must be from Heaven, because reading your comment, you must be some kind of divine and pure soul who feels he can pass judgement on 300 million people and declare them to be as one.
self serving? how? obnoxious., deinatly. hypocritical... how? It may be helpful to people other than you. logical? yes it is. reasonable..why should it be reasonable? but do go on. and plese feel free to parapgrase me if you cant think of anything intelligent to sat.....
Voted : What's normal ?
Remember Reaganomics and Iran-Contra? Watergate and Vietnam? The Cold War and US support for bloodthirsty right wing dictators (Suharto and so on)? McCarthyism was before my time, but the list goes on.
*paraphrase *say
Think of anything intelligent to say? I think you mean to write. We're not speaking here, we're writing. The same question applies to you. Please point out to us what exactly about your first comment is intelligent? All I read is an obnoxious and very unhelpful personal rant. What part of your comment is at all based on rational thought? No part of it is. Please answer the question: where are you from? If you're so confident, sitting in your position of self-appointed moral superiority, you won't mind revealing where it is you live. Please also answer my other questions if you feel so sure of the validity of your first comment. Can you? Remember, when you point a finger at someone else, you have 3 fingers pointing back at you. Or how about "let he who is without sin cast the first stone." I could go on here Ghandi...should I?
Voted : There is no norm and has never been one.
Normal changes with each new abnormality. And we call it "progress".
Voted : No way, Jose, We will never get back to normal
Normal was six exit ramps back, baby...
once again, quirk is failing to see the forest for the trees. Unless quirk is from a third world country, he shouldn't have opinions about what the united states is doing when England and Canada have their own problems, and the French and Germany are even worse. But hey, if it makes this shill feel better, using an alternate user name to bash on the USA, so be it. But I'm going to set the record straight. But, let's stick to the ballot at hand. Religious fanaticism from outside the USA and a failure to maintain any moral responsibility INSIDE the USA has led us down a dangerous path. The ACLU is first in line to protect the rights of someone who wants to show tits on tv or piss in a jar with an image of Jesus in it and call it art, and then first in line to push political correctiveness to completely overboard proportions. Just the other day the Supreme Court ruled (thank God) that morons on high speed chases can't sue police officers when the morons who are running crash their cars and get hurt, be it a pit maneuver to stop them or whatever. Too bad so often though you have total retards like the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals leading the way in stupid decisions and asshat behavior, pushing the boundaries of decency and destroying the American way of life.
Voted : Yes, yes, we will get back to normal
Now to express my opinion. I hope so! What ever normal is. I think normal is subjective. All I know is I hope it goes back to being the way it once was, as described by so many people. I have high hopes that once we have a refreshing change in leadership, the United States will remember it's roots: to be as fair as possible, to respect individual rights, to be diplomats before ever even considering being warriors, to welcome the poor and meek and help them find a better life, to put the long-term global good above our own immediate interests, etc., etc. The current "leadership" in Washington seems very parnoid and act like everyone is out to get us...that kind of thinking never leads to good things. I think the last several years prove that.
Oh and Quirk, I notice you were off the site for 2 years. Last comment made on May 8 2005 and then when you returned in March of 2007. Long time no see. Hope everything was okay during that 2 year hiatus. Welcome back!
Oh my goodness no. I should expect things to gradually deteriorate in between catastrophes.
Voted : It's too late to turn back now
Someday soon, I expect the savings of every hard-working American to be erased with one swipe of a pen. Enron, baby! Only then will we notice what has become of this country. When it's too late.
Life is what you make it. So is Government!
