SIXTY FIVE MILLION DOLLAR PANTS

Roy Pearson, a lawyer and low level judge in the nation's capital, brought his pants to the dry cleaners in May 2005 and asked them to perform ten dollars and fifty cents worth of alterations.

The pants disappeared, and the ensuing dispute has resulted in a sixty five million dollar lawsuit.

He says he deserves millions for the damages he suffered by not getting his pants back, for his litigation costs, for mental suffering, inconvenience and discomfort, for the value of the time he has spent on the lawsuit, for leasing a car every weekend for 10 years and for a replacement suit, according to court papers.

IMO this is one of the most ridiculous law suits of all times, it’s a pair of pants, he needs to GET OVER IT.

What's particularly troublesome is that this guy is not only a lawyer but some kind of administrative law judge. Hopefully when he comes up for review with that body they will take a serious look at his actions.

What is your opinion?

Ridiculous
Not so ridiculous

OUTRAGEOUS. I hope they throw him, bodily, out of the courtroom, and make him pay any expenses that were incurred to the taxpaying public.

^Not only that, he should be forced to reimburse the dry cleaners, they go to court in June.
"It's not humorous, not funny and nobody would have thought that something like this would have happened," Soo Chung told ABC News through an interpreter.

Her husband agreed.

"It's affecting us first of all financially, because of all the lawyers' fees," Jin Chung said. "For two years, we've been paying lawyer fees. & We've gotten bad credit as well, and secondly, it's been difficult mentally and physically because of the level of stress."

Later, Soo Chung broke down in tears

I would have never thought it would have dragged on this long," she told ABC News. "I don't want to live here anymore. It's been so difficult. I just want to go home, go back to Korea."

I don't blame them
