I won't add it because I'm not totally sure if it is American, but nothing beats good barbecue. I can't name one specific huge BBQ chain... maybe Famous Dave's or something.

Huh? Big Mac is just a Hamburger. Coca-Cola is just a soft drink. It's just the way it's prepared...a hamburger is a hamburger. If to most people around the world American food means Big Mac's, Fries and Coca-Cola, they need to open their eyes and expand their horizons...bascially, they need to get out of the house more  Talk about a ridiculous stereotype.
Patch is right, i had a friend in the Netherlands who ate hamburgers and fries and all that, but instead of ketchup he used mayonaise...most americans use ketchup, at least i do anyway,s! YUM :P
I love Wendys Double Cheeseburger from their Super Value Menu. Its a regular size burger -- great taste for $1.09.

It's basically a philly cheese steak on thick sliced Italian bread with fries and coleslaw inside the sandwich.
