Probably not. Look at the Pet Food crisis all because some corrupt company in China decided to lie and added in a toxic substance just to try and meat our safety standards. There would be no controls. Canada might be safe, but if you buy prescriptions from Canada, you have no way of knowing where they originated. Do you want to take that chance? What is needed is drastic reform for Prescription medications in this country.
The Democrats have been in control of the House for four months, and during that time, they've had to deal with Bush's oil war. Given time, the Democrats would do more for seniors than the Republicans, by far. Of course, the real answer is universal health care, so that no one would have to choose between eating and medical care.
I know! It takes a long, long time to even begin to undo the immense damage Bush has done. Give the Democrats time. I guess this is a good time for me to announce that I have chosed a political party: I am a DEMOCRAT! I guess to some it was obvious, but now I'm making it official.

As far as I know, the prohibition governing purchasing perscription drugs from foreign suppliers only applies to particular countries, and prohibits importing potent narcotics like refined opiates and cocaine (illegal drugs to possess in the US). As long as you have a legal prescription, the FDCA created a so-called "personal use" exception that permits individuals to import a 90-day supply of prescription medication into the U.S.

My dad, who is living in Arizona, along with several of his friends, have no choice but to travel down to Mexico to see doctors and get their prescriptions for a fraction of what it would cost them in the U.S.
^ good deal scissors, if Americans can't afford to buy them here they should beable to get cheaper elsewhere, either that or go without, which sadly, probably many Americans do
