Just to have a photo op, and show that he is a brave leader, Cheney goes to Baghdad for a photo-op and an interview.

did you notice the conference room he was in?

a tiny windowless room without any reporters?

so what is he accomplishing? Does his presense in Baghdad a Moral Booster?

Or is he unnecessarily endangering troops as those idiot suicide bombers blow themselves up in an attempt to get near Cheney's underground nuclear shelter?

That's no morale booster...I think it's part of the "patented" attack on the new House Bill which would give the Bush Administration 2 months funding...so now the veep has a first hand "look" and After talks with Iraqi military and political officials, the vice president said Iraq’s leaders seem to have a better sense now that they need to do more to reconcile sectarian and political differences. (translation: we need more money and no restrictions on it.) While Bush has threatened to vetoe the bill Cheney "justifies" his reasoning...(while there's explosions so close they rattle the windows where this meeting is taking place)...

He may be seeking help from Saudi Arabia and other middle east coutries that would benefit from a stable Iraq.

^I'm sure the Saudis pouring guns and money into Iraq for the insurgents would do a lot to bring stability to Iraq.
