Very racist. They sound like statements someone like Hitler would say.
kev- The first quote I could not judge as it is not entirely there. The second quote could just as easily be interpretted as an empowering statement. At no point is any race targeted in this statement, and to be quite honest, if the statement was made by a black man I can guarantee you would think of it as an empowering statement. To me it states the obvious, one must be proud of their race. It does not say one must believe their race is any better or worse than another. Regarding the quotes on the next ballot, he specifically targets an demeans a race. I'm just not seeing that here.
He was a man of his times. Considering the spirit of the era, I'd say he was probably moderate. If you wanted me to name a racist of that era I'd go with Ty Cobb.

Insidious racism stings and cut just as deeply as the overt brand...

But what Else did Lindbergh say? He was merely speaking his mind, expressing himself, he might be 'more careful' if he were speaking today... Keeping out 'undesirables' is not a bad idea, the desire for preservation of your own people is understandable, protection of your nation is always important... Lindbergh had his own opinions, his own way of looking at things, they were valid to him and probably to others...
