Voted : Yes, I understand this a bit better now.
Understood it all too well from Day One, which is why the only barometer I'll accept on how things are going in Iraq is from the friends have on the ground there.
Please insert an "I" between "friends" and "have".

I wouldn't know. I only get my news from Al Jazeera.
they learned well, those are tactics taught to them by the CIA, when they were the "mujahadeen heroes" praised by the elder bush. I understand there are thousands of good things that the troops are doing. My question is, could thost things have been done without charging in there without any plan, and putting our people in danger? We gotta look at what we are risking here. How many people do we lose before we say it's enough? Is there any way we can accomplish the things that need to be accomplished, without risking lives on the both side?

I agree, LCD, but just to clarify, I do not condone any of the bad things that are going on, nor do I believe for any reason we should excuse those doing bad things. But I think a lot of people don't know about the good things that are happening and that frustrates me. I will say this much, for the most part, the vast majority of people support the troops, and I'm thankful for that. If we would have gotten our hands on those soldiers who raped that young girl and killed her and her family... there was some seething anger about that among pretty much every military member over there, we work so hard to try and present a good image to the Iraqi people and that was a horrific display of hateful stupidity. There were a lot of times we nearly got into fights with other units because we found them to be doing less than honorable things when dealing with some of the Iraqi people. That being said, however, the Iraqi people do a lot of deceitful things too, but to put that into perspective, they have lived under the iron rule of a dictator, and they had to lie to survive. I can't imagine how hard it is to trust anyone when for 30 years you've had to hide and lie and cheat just so you wouldn't get killed and to protect your loved ones. When you really get into talking to the Iraqi people, EVERYONE has lost someone, usually more than just one, family member during Saddam's rule, in fact, many of them lost family members and never knew what happened to them.
Voted : No, I don't think the media is used against the U.S. forces
No one uses the media better than the Chimp...
Saying the media is against us is basically saying the truth is against us, so kill the messenger. Fox News is hardly anti-American, but even with its limited dedication to the truth, it can't help but but reveal that, on balance, the Iraq War is a debacle. "the vast majority of people support the troops." And the vast majority of people want the troops to come home. Therefore, supporting Bush's endless war is not automatically a sign of support for the troops. "When you really get into talking to the Iraqi people, EVERYONE has lost someone, usually more than just one, family member during Saddam's rule, in fact, many of them lost family members and never knew what happened to them." And now that applies to the Iraq War, as well.
And the story from the Afghan side is that U.S. troops stormed into a village and began bashing in doors, without warning, looking for Taliban fighters. In Afghan culture it is considered a grave insult for someone to come into your home and view your wife and daughters and you must, to retain your manhood, attack whoever is doing that. So the U.S. troops start breaking their way in, and as a matter of honor, the Afghans grab their AK-47s (which virtually all rural Afghani men own) and start fighting. So, the U.S. troops end up killing a bunch of Afghan men, and call them all Taliban. Then, after the soldiers leave, the U.S. sends in planes to strafe the village. The bombs hit houses randomly, killing the women and children. Then they tell them, we're fighting the terrorists here in Afghanistan, so we don't have to fight them back in the United States. And we're surprised that hostility to the United States is growing in Afghanistan, and that the Taliban is resurgent.

If they learned how to do this from anywhere it was the good 'ol USA. Your values jappy are not theirs and they dont believe you. neither do I. More lives have been lost since "the iron rule of dictatorship" than during it. Who are you to be angry about the rape and murder of a local girl? you self satisfied prick. These people dont want your involvement in this. sigh. i hat you jappy. you are why this war continues. stupid bastards like you who will do as they are told and go places they arent welcome and yet assume its cool because "we" are the good guys. fuck you and everything you stand for bacause it stinks and your to stupid to see it.
sigh that would be "hate"
I think there are two sides to that story. I'm certain that Al Queda and Taliban members are more than bad enough, and I'm certain that most American GIs are normal people. But in any large group there is a criminal element, including the American military. Add dangerous situations and bad training and the results can be terrible at times.
You are a total fucking retard quirk. 10 million Iraqis died just during the Iran/Iraq war. Fucking idiot. You are making a strong case for the most brain dead moronic dipshit on this entire website, and considering that BBC and DUNG are here, THAT is saying a LOT.
Also, who am I to be angry about the rape and murder of a young girl? What kind of jackass asks a question like that? It doesn't matter who does it, it's reprehensible and disgusting and it should anger EVERYONE! Go ahead and sit in your cozy easy chair, you fat slob. I've been there. 1000 to 1 you little bitch, stick that in your fucking pipe and smoke it, go ahead and question exact numbers, doesn't take away a fucking thing from the symbolism just because you are a lame duck dipshit.

Get a grip Jappy, you have decided to play along with a war that is based on a LIE and you dare criticize those who decided not to? You have put your very own life in peril's way for a Chimp who could not care less about you and you dare call other people's reasoning in question? Talk about someone being brain dead, when is your brain's funeral? I consider the source of those who criticize me and you being the source at this time I say this to you..."I laugh in your cyber Chimp supporter and lapDOG face"
Well, if it was based on a lie then that means every politician who voted for the war was lying too, because they did so based on the same information the white house had. Kettle, this is pot, get a grip on yourself before asking others to.
But, you being a Libigot, it is difficult for you to be either to think things thru in either an intelligent manner or in a way that is condusive to productive outcomes, all you do is blame. And hey, aren't you in freaking Italy? Worry about your own country's politics.
^ [smile: I served in the U.S. Military lapdog, both Italy and U.S.A are my countries, now, continue to believe you are serving a positive purpose for your pathetic President, see how far it will get you and do continue to sniper crawl through your tour, in otherwords, continue to cover your endangered species arse while continuing to support a lying Chimp...
