Let me ask you something cranky, why wouldn't you believe it? Have you been there? Have you actually traveled to the war zone and involved yourself in what is going on there? Did you know that our engineers are building schools there, did you know that our water purification units are setting up clean water supply for towns that haven't had running water since before the Iran/Iraq war in the 1980's? Did you know that other units are setting up irrigation to help Iraqi farmers increase their crop flow and introducing corn and other crops that haven't been grown there before?
Maybe rather than assuming you should actually experience, it's amazing what you find out when you take the time to look.

I'm not saying the Americans aren't doing good things in Iraq, I'm saying that the 1,000 to 1 ratio is ridiculous in a country where tens of thousands have died, where the infrastructure, overall, is actually deteriorating, where people in an oil-rich country have to wait hours in line for gasoline, kids can't attend school because their parents are afraid to let them out of the house, where people are afraid to go to work and to the shops, where there is a Virginia Tech scale massacre nearly every day, where the level of corruption is in the stratosphere, and where an American can't travel on the street without an armed escort.
A couple of other points: The 20 billion in U.S. funds used for reconstruction was spent or lost long ago. Any money now that is used to rebuild Iraq is Iraqi money, being used to rebuild the infrastructure the U.S. invasion destroyed.
And as for the Iraq/Iran war, the U.S. encouraged Iraq to invade Iran as part of their Middle East stategy to deposed Khoumeini.
The debacle in Iraq will not be won by positive thinking. And there are a lot of respected conservatives who are not positive on this war.
And finally, I wouldn't have assumed that Jane Fonda was an expert on Southeast Asia just because she visited North Vietnam.

I have been there and the war is comprised of alot of BS...
Why aren't they building much needed schools in the states? It is not our responsibility to build schools over there...
Water purification units should be set up in many of the rural areas in the states so that many AMERICANS may have CLEAN water supply...How about that?
Why don't they set up irrigation (free of charge of cause, just like they are allegedly setting up in Iraq, as I roll my eyes into the back of my head)to help AMERICAN farmers to increase crops for the AMERICAN people? H*ll, the last time I checked, AMERICANS eat corn too 
The AMERICAN people are being sh*t upon every step of the way since this lying arse WAR began, when will ALL the BIG green weenies be removed from each AMERICAN arse?

There continues to be acts of abuse by AMERICAN TROOPS against Iraqi MEN, WOMEN and CHILDREN...However, it really does not matter because they are not looked upon as human beings, that makes it quite easy to treat them inhumanely...
American Troops returning home either in body bags or physically/psychologically disabled for fighting in a war based on a horrific LIE...
Try supporting the American Troops for a change rather than the mastermind of their demise...
