SHOULD BILL (POTENTIAL LAW) SUPPORTERS/OPPONENTS BE MORE STRAIGHTFORWARD?

Why do the supporters and opponents of potential laws have to be so incredibly confusing and misleading in their tactics? In this particular instance, the Employee Free Choice Act, a long and confusing bill currently in Congress, is being promoted and opposed in such a confusing fashion that one begins to wonder who is who behind the scenes.

A group called the "Coalition For A Democratic Workplace", calling themselves "...“rank-and-file workers from across the country, who want to preserve their right to a secret ballot vote, as well as leaders from several national associations" opposes the act, stating that the bill would require public voting for union status in any organization.

But it appears that this group is not actually representing workers, but in fact is they are mainly comprised of about 20 or 30 employer groups are, ranging from the American Petroleum Institute to the National Restaurant Association, to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

And the other side in this issue is not much better, making misleading comments and name calling to get their side across, basically leaving the typical person in the general public scratching his head, wondering just WTF this bill is even for?

Wouldn't it be nice if the groups supporting these bills were more straightforward?

They should be more straightforward
They tell the truth and aren't misleading anyone
The bills themselves are utterly impossible for the typical person to understand.

I've never heard of this, but it sounds typical.

Voted : They should be more straightforward
But, as we're dealing with pollies, we're damn lucky that they write the legislation in English.
