SHOULD THE UNITED STATES LISTEN TO THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY?

One of the criticisms we hear often is that the United States, particulary during the Bush years (nightmare), does not listen to or respect international opinion.

Many argue that the USA, particularly during the Bush years, acts very paranoid, as if the world is out to get us. On the other hand, the international community feels that the USA blatantly disregards "their" opinions and advice and does what ever it pleases.

Do you think the United States has an inherent obligation to consider the views of the international community and to respect their opinions, advice and guidance if it is not a direct and blatant threat to us?

Yes, we do
No, we don't

Voted : Yes, we do
I think we should. It would really help our image. I for one do not think the world is out to get us. Unless thier advice is really counter to our interests or harms us, why not listen? I think we are obliged to.

Yes, this macho, cowboy, bully, go-it-alone policy is a TOTAL failure.

We have an idiot Vice-President who behaves like Nelson on the Simpsons. That can't be good.

It only makes sense. It's foolish in extremis to believe that we alone have all the answers to anything.
