Almost all of them qualify. Thanks, Colin, for the nice imagery. I will use it tonight (going through a period of insomnia).

Voted : Your cat under the covers, curled up against you, purring away.
our neighbours cat came in the front door and into my bedroom the other day whilst I was half asleep in my dressing gown and curled up between my neck and shoulder, purring in my eye. I was all set for nodding back off to the rhythmic purring in my ear, but the little bastard INSISTED on rubbing his furry, slightly wet little nose and mouth against my lips and mouth, which cant be hygienic. I was looking for sleep, he was looking for some inter-species loving! Talk about crossed wires!
Voted : A slightly chilly bedroom (about 15*C).
Hibernation does a body good.
'I was looking for sleep, he was looking for some inter-species loving! Lucky for that Puss it wasn't the other way around.
^He wouldnt have been able to walk or climb up trees for a week! Maybe next time he comes in I will teach him not to flirt with species that have phallus' as big as his head..

Not a distant thunderstorm - a really close one. Something to occupy the mind rather than suffer all those thoughts that prevent sleep.
Failing that, some quiet classical music.

.....that and the sound of the wind, with branches swaying and leaves rustling.
What ever happened to a good ol' handjob?
^I agree, an orgasm really helps you sleep, because all you want to do is lie there
