The young white couple Channon Christian and Hugh Christopher Newsom were both raped and murdered, and four African Americans are charged with the crime. Cleaning fluid found in the woman's mouth was apparently used to erase DNA evidence after the crime. White supremist blogger Hal Turner also said that the victims were mutilated while alive. Supremist bloggers claim that the suspects cut off a penis and one or both breasts, a charge that the Knoxville police say is not true. Police say there was no evidence that they were mutilated while alive. A number of other bloggers were also members of white supremist groups, and one was recorded as saying "No more savage black crime." One blogger wearing a swastika held up a sign that said, "Diversity = White Death." The mother of one of the victims said, "That is not what they stood for." So what do you think? Was a horrible hate crime covered up by the media, or was a crime that was more than bad enough exaggerated and turned into a hate crime by bloggers?
