I thought it was supposed to be blue (second full moon in a month). I couldn't see the moon last night because of the cloud cover and a major thunder storm.

"Blue moon" is just a term for the second full moon in a month, it's not literally blue. I've seen the moon when it was white, pink, yellow, brown, and gray, but never blood red.
