DO YOU READ THE TERMS OF AGREEMENT?

[+] serious ballot by Truthseeker013

In my previous, I mentioned something I saw in the Terms of Agreement when I was setting up my new iPod, and I wondered this.

If you install or download anything, do you *read* the Terms of Agreement before you click Yes? Or do you pass on it? (I ask this because I ahve a friend who runs a site that offers free downloads of operating software he wrote himself, and he placesa line in the Terms stating that, should you agree to the Terms and download the software, you're signing over to him the rights to your immortal soul for all eternity.)

Yes, I do! I'm not *stuppid*!
Uhhhh...

COMMENTS:
And I hope that none of you are in that list of downloadees I spoke of. My frend says that he intends to come looking for those souls, with the intention of putting them to work. And I don't think he plans to have anyone stuffing envelopes...

So it's not all legal stuff about how I promise not to copy the software and that it may contain nuts??? I've been had.

I'd love to read the Terms and Conditions, but it's just that they're written in small text and there's loads of them...

I don't, and I'll probably live to regret it someday, but it's so much to read.

I do. There's been a time or two when it's saved me from later regretting that I didn't.

I've seen some stick compatibility issues in their TOA that should have been put elsewhere. Why they didn't, I don't know unless some just get their rocks off knowing that they completely screwing up someone's computer.

My boyfriend is the installer and downloader (OMG LOL!) in our relationship and he reads EVERYTHING, every tiny bit of information that comes with everything. And he retains it and understands it all. He is never at a loss if something goes wrong because he will remember exactly what information he needs to fix it. This is with TV's, phones, agreements, manuals, dinstructions, you name it~he reads it all cover to cover.
