HAVE YOU EVER FELT LIKE WALKING AWAY?

My dad has a friend in his 50's who just lost his wife, he hasn’t children but has brothers sisters, nieces, nephews and such.

He said he is tired of going to funerals of loved ones, tired of seeing them die, and he is seriously thinking of leaving, cutting all contact with his family, if someone dies he doesn’t want to know about it.

I’ll admit, that thought has flashed through my mind but I could never do it, because I couldn’t stand never seeing my family, although I can relate to his not wanting to attend another funeral of someone loved.

Have you thought of doing such a thing, and would it be wrong for this guy to just walk away and never look back?

I'll tell you in comment if I would and if it's right or wrong to do such a thing

COMMENTS:
Can't see the point of him cutting them off. He should just explain to them how he feels next time he's invited to a funeral. Or make an excuse of ill health and can't attend.

Although, odds are, his own funeral will end up being a dead affair (excuse the pun).

I think he is saying he doesnt want to know when a loved one dies, that way he won't mourn, what he doesn't know won't hurt him kind of thing

I'm about t do the same thing myself, but for somewhat different reasons. I'm sick to death of being hurt by my family, and it may be time to walk away.
