although can't imagine what else could be said, more ballots and comments were made yesterday on Paris Hilton than situation in Darfur in past 3 years.

It's about time that the justice system did its job, and not allow fame to override civic obligation to obey the laws of the land. I'm hoping that she gets her life together.

I'm hoping she lives out the plot to one of those bad 1970's "women in prison" films, and I don't have an ounce of sympathy for this whiny little celebutante with an excessive sense of noblesse oblige. I don't think any self-made millionairess would ever behave in such a petulant, childish fashion--not even Donald Trump or his brood.
...And, yes, there are *plenty* of substantial, life-and-death news stories out in the world, and, while the commercial press has every right to focus on the heir-brain if that's how they make money, they shouldn't be surprised if we fail to take them seriously as a credible news source.

If that had been any of us, including the person who is now ignoring me...any of us would have gotten a lot longer sentence, and no excuse to get house arrest instead. SAME RULES FOR EVERYONE!
