Peripheral question: Have you ever noticed that male politicians seem to have either plain-jane or just flat-out-ugly wives? Why is that? Most of these guy are successful before they even get into politics, and where there's success, there's money. And where there's money, there are hot chicks (doesn't matter if the man is not attractive). Why isn't that the case with politicians? Do you think they want dowdy wives so that the female voters won't feel threatened?
