Yes they "offer" it but do they pay it? I know that the one by me is known for not giving people the money they are supposed to be getting plus they work the hell outta of ya. I know about eighteen people whom work at or have worked for them and they all complain about getting ripped off and on top of it working overtime without extra pay or even without any pay. BTW four of those people work at different Wal-marts so I know it's not just the one by me. If they ever bother to hire me I will tell ya if it's a good job or not.
i don't think there is anythign wrong with a retail job when ur young, but when u get older, it gets embarrassing

^ I've heard the same about the overtime. As for benefits, the last I heard was that they offered none. I guess they've improved. Though I use the term "improved" loosely.

I don't think there would be anything wrong with it. It's a store, not a factory making poison or something :)

nuck, if that's true, then they've raised the pay rate considerably since last I looked. I had a cousin who worked there. Didn't need the money, because his dad's stinkin' rich, but he'd just graduated from HS, and my uncle-in-law was tired of seeing him aroundthe house, so he took him to the local Emproium of Evil and made him get a job. The kid showed me one of his paychecks once, for a full week's work. It was for less than a hundred bucks, after taxes. I couldn't help but think, "How would a family manage on that?"

"The pay and benefits are great?" Where are those Walmarts? Around here the pay is lousy and it takes forever to qualify for any kind of benefit.
nothing. it's a stepping stone to something bigger and better hopefully.

I don't even buy that evil company argument. they are company that allowed to exist because the politician are all weak backboned, bribed servants to the wall street and corporate world. 50 years ago, Walmart would have been broken up by anti-monopoly, anti-rackeeteering arm of the congress.
