I have difficulty imagining someone like Sharpton would care if it was outside the states.
It reminds me of how Muslims cry about how they're victimized, like Iraq and Afghanistan. Going in and committing suide bombings in Iraq, Afghanistan, or Britain isn't going to help your cause, stupid. What about the number of Muslim women who die in honour killings? What about the number of circumsicized women? What about the Muslims who die from disease and poverty? What about the opression of Muslim women? What about the number of animists and Christians who die and are persecuted on a daily basis? What about the darfur problem? (I haven't heard a single muslim group dennounce it)

Aya, I agree w/ some of what you say, but the circumcision thing is WAAAY off. Jews and Christian and Muslims still circumcise every male child born to them.A little boy just died in Toronto from a botched one. I think that to use disgusting mutilation practices as an example of "muslim brutality", WITHOUT condemning the 2 other main culprits for the same barbaric thing, is disingenuous. Plus, the Koran does not dictate that anyone circumcise females. It is an African tribal thing, much as the Persian burka, which predate Islam by centuries. Come on now...

And of course it's not Islamic, that's my point, these Muslims don't exactly get riled up over things that are taking place in the name of thier religion, now are they? Well, see, here's the thing, circumsision is also done to prevent against disease, not just for "aesthitic" aesthetic(?) reasons. Besides, if you think I"m focusing too much on Islam, it's because I've noticed there is such a political correctness surrounding Islam; it's fine to criticize Christianity or Judaism (without the same volume of death threats that you would get for criticizing Islam). Actually, this ballot started on about slavery. I only cited some examples, and it exasperating to hear silence on the part of the Muslim community. Sure, I could add an anti-Bush ballot (you hate Bush, don't you? so I'm sure you have no problem with the thousands of already Bush ballots out there), but the thing is: I usually consider myself to be in the middle, but this site can be very far to the left sometimes.

As for your exasperation, there's probably 5 Muslims on the entire site., so a lack of outrage is to be expected.
