Voted : She's Tellin the Truth
Well considering that she's right, I would say that she's just being honest. We know that dependence on foreign oil is very dangerous for this country, yet companies like Exxon-Mobile do everything they can to stop development of alternate fule sources. Considering that they are the largest oil company in the world, with revenues of well over $300 billion per year and obscene profits, why aren't they spending more to develop alternative energy? Instead of seeing this as a political issue in terms of her party affiliation or accusations of her being Communist, maybe for once people should put the greater good of the nation ahead of petty political back-biting? I think so. You can't be happy with the usual rhetoric these zombie like candidates spew out like mindless drones, can you? This country is in dire straights. I for one want someone who will tell it like it is and hopefully act on it, than ones who will talk a good game, yet do nothing. Polarization of the Right vs. the left will surely bring this country down. That seems pretty clear. Labels are dangerous.
Sorry, my choice should have read Telling and not Tellin.
Voted : No, she's a capitalist.
No more communistic than requiring fuel efficient autos.
Voted : Socialist
Communist is bit of an exaggeration since she's not advocating that the means of production be owned by the state. Her rhetoric is more on par with that of Socialist, taking the profits from a private company in order to benefit the "public". Look seizing the profits of oil companies wil not solve American's dependence on foreign fuel since the American people themselves are still very addicted to gasoline. The only reason why Exxon and the like don't spend more on developing alternative fuels and vechicles is because there is low demand for those things.People much rather drive their Hummers and SUVs than hybrid cars, until that turns around I seriously doubt that alternative energy sources will get the attention they deserve. Check out the doc "Who Killed the Electric Car?" and see how the public reacts to alternative fuels.
Voted : No, she's a capitalist.
There are too many commodities that should not be in the sole hands of private enterprises (medicines, utilities, etc..) which have been overpriced and without any incentive to ensure efficiencies and to keep them at a reasonable price...in fact, any excuse they have to raise their prices, they do, but the ratio of profit to reinvestment to is a joke...and also a justification to further raise their costs (and profits) to the consumers...allowing these entities to control vital resources with lax oversight is unwise...(and while I'm on my "soapbox") tax breaks in the face of record profits is unfathomable...
no.
Voted : Yes, she's the Manchurian Candidate.
Well, it takes a village... I agree with Hymietown Hillary on this issue. Taking profits from oil companies is not so much a socialist redistribution of wealth as it is a punishment for a century of monopolistic price gouging and corrupt and unethical business practices.
^^^ Kind of like that Whitewater Land Development Corporation, so she must know of what she speaks.
Voted : No, she's a capitalist.
