Voted : No, it really comes down to corporate greed.
I have a friend here in Atlanta who's in IT. Used to work at Comcast, until those fine folks decided to outsource his job to India, where they can hire *four* lifeforms for the same amount they were paying him...
Voted : Free Market capitalism seeking the lowest cost of production
It's not that the American people are lazy and unwilling to due manual labor it is that the wages for those jobs are too low to raise a family on and therefore we pass them up.I don't think it is fair to say that the corporations are greedy because at the end of the day the corporation serves one purpose and that is to make profits. One way too maximize profits is to cut the cost of production and thus they hire workers who are willing to work for less.

Construction, crop picking, forestry:lower wage without paying the workmans comp. Its a fact that I will not get hired for any of these jobs because of my ethnicity.Racism towards the white american??We can & would like very much to do these jobs but will not be hired for them.hotel housekeeping??No habla espanol.no hire trabajo.truth be told.
Voted : No, the new globalized corporate system is destroying the middle class
We are moving toward a global system of corporate capitalism, that simply dessicates the middle class. Unless something is done, we will move to a world where 1 percent of the world's population will be unbelieveably wealthy and own almost all the world's assets and welath, while the rest will live at a subsistance level. It will be interesting to see who those corporations will sell their middle class goods to then. Who is going to buy a $500 iPhone when the average monthly income will be $100 (as it is presently, in China)?

Our educational system has failed us. Dancing, clothing and rapping are more of a priority than grammar, mathematics and science if you look at the "programming" that passes for E/I these days. The money men who control our government are purposely creating a nation of wage-slaves only for the benefit of themselves.

Voted : Capitalism Without Adequate Regulation
The "balance" between worker's pay and the cost of living is out of sync which can or may lead to "depressions" in the economy...which could have a domino effect, and U.S. workers are among the hardest and best workers on earth, hands down. many forms of manual labor is obselete due to machines..in many of these countries where the standard of living is low, "unskilled" manual labor is the only way to get the job done
Americans work longer hours than any other nation on the planet. They also receive less vacation time. The average American gets less than 2 weeks vacation a year meanwhile your typical European gets a full month annually.
^RG, I don't know about that. What about the workoholic Japanese?
