DESTRUCTION RITUALS AFTER WEDDINGS

The destruction of the wedding dress and the smashing (not eating) of the wedding cake is an increasingly common ritual in weddings. It's not just punks doing this either, it's becoming quite common. The destruction rituals are often photographed. What do you think of these rituals?

I don't get them, that's a little crazy.
I had a destruction ritual after my wedding.
heh heh huh huh, breaking stuff is cool.
It symbolizes the death of the need to form a bond, the bond has already been formed.
Never heard of this ritual

I could see couples doing it if they were punks or something, but I don't quite get why straightedges do it.

I hadn't heard of this, I'm guessing this happens on the coast or something?

People tend to do things to get attention, wouldn't surprise me.

To me, what's really wasteful is spending $30,000 on a wedding.
