I've noticed that. Dave Berry wrote a column about things never seen on television. He mentioned that he never saw a stupid female attorney on TV.

Men *are* stuppid. (Argue all you like, guys. Then think about the last date you went on, the way you acted with her/him...I rest my case.
socal, I know what you mean about That Old Double Standard, and can't stand it. I used to post on a site full of young and unbelievably stuppid menfolk, and a thread was started regarding a nineteen-year-old British girl who was trying to break the world record for most sex partners in a certain time limit. One of these kids openly called her a sl*t and, to their credit, every other user there lambasted him for it, said that if a man were to do the same thing, he'd be called a hero, then mentioned one of my favorite human beings, Hef. I'm stopping here before I begin projectile-vomiting...
actually, you make a good point. i don't know why i feel this way, but i usually see women as being smarter than men. i've always thought that. could be cuz women seem more insightful.

Men get “dumb” roles to show the world that even though they are dumb, even the smartest women must in the end still serve, respect or love them. In “Everybody loves Raymond”, he’s dumb, but usually she is left holding the sack of shit. He’s dumb, but she still cooks and serves. And when a man plays dumb, it is usually understood that it is in response to some ridiculous unreasonable irritating and mysterious request from the mind of a woman.
Men’s “dumb” roles try (unsuccessfully) to imply that men are still at the head of the table no matter how dumb they act, and women still wind up washing, cooking and serving no matter how smart they are.
Men acting dumb is cute, because nobody really believes it. Women acting dumb is hurtful because it has been used against the most brilliant of women for eons.
A woman acting dumb on TV or the movies is shown ridicule, contempt, abandonment, irritation, and so on. A man acting dumb….gets loved and “taken care of” because he appeals to her “mothering instinct”. Oh, please shoot me now.
Men’s dumb roles show that men don't have to even try to make sense at all, and they are still understood, just because they are men.
Men playing dumb roles is BRILLIANT REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY.
I can't stand the men that act dumb if you mean dumb by like Homer Simpson and Al Bundy and Chevy Chase type of dumb. I've always thought those type of guys were just completely stupid, like Buddy Limbeck, always trying to be funny...never been my type of guy, ever.

A woman that acts like Buddy would be like Kelly Bundy or something...except Buddy isn't seen as a bimbo, and Kelly is...go figure, both were always after the opposite sex!
