ISN'T NYMPHOMANIA SIMPLY SEX ADDICTION? WHY THE SPECIAL WORD?

There is a special word for women who are addicted to sex. And we're not talking of just your "run of the mill" "can't get enough" person, either. But, why weren't men included with their own special medical term? Or maybe one exists, and I'm just unaware of it. I'm not talking about slang terms, either. Nymphomania is a medical term. Isn't it all just sex addiction? I mean, certainly there are male sex addicts. You'd think the word would have already been put on one of those political correctness lists as one to avoid. Am I right, or not?

Yes, nymphomania is simply sex addiction. It's an unfair, negative, and biased label.
No, nymphomaniacs are different from other sex addicts.

Sounds like an old-fashioned term.

Money says that a man coined the term.

Male nymphomania is called satyriasis. These are both medical terms but sex addiction is just a pedestrian term for both.

I don't really care which it is. I just want to know where I can a few more. A nymphomap if you will.

Robin is right, of course there is a term for sex addiction among males. It seems the media at one point used the term in reference to Clinton. But, by and large, male sex addiction seems much less viewed as aberrent behaviour. It still seems inequitable to me. That's just me.
