Voted : i prayed and it didn't come true
none of my prayers come true. But sometimes i wonder if they didn't come true for the better...if my sister had lived she would have been brain dead...if my brother had lived he'd be paralyzed from the neck down...etc. etc. etc.

It's hard to say, when loved ones are sick I pray they get better and sometimes they do, did they improve because of my prayers? I would love to think that, but I don't know.
^ I voted yes, but it shoud be I don't know

i begged for mercy and it came in ways i'm still marveling at. don't know if that begging qualified as a prayer. I never asked for anything specific - but i do know somehow something changed and i am happy again.

...And Santy Claus never did bring me that go-kart, now that I think of it. If there is any kind of deity or deities, it's difficult to see how they microintervene in humanity's daily existence or what's in it for them.
Yeah, O.K., I screwed up the initial verb on the last posting. Sorry about that.
My ex-boyfriend said that he didn't believe in God because of one prayer not being answered. He said that when his Grandfather was in the hospital and going in for surgery, that he prayed for his Grandpa to live through it. He survived the surgery, but died a week later. So the ex-boyfriend became bitter and quit believing in God. I told him that his prayer was answered. His grandpa did survive the surgery (like he asked.) I also reminded him that he got to spend one more week with his grandpa before he died. How many people who have lost a loved one suddenly would have given anything to have spent one more week with that person before they passed? God isn't a magic genie who grants your every wish. If you're praying for someone to survive a tragic event, is the prayer a self-serving prayer or is it in the best interest of the person you're praying for? Like socal said, in the long run, it was probably for the best when her sister died, versus living and being brain dead. Too many times, people want to blame God when things go wrong, yet these same people fail to thank God for the good in their lives.
^ runs i found out this wekend that God is real! I know it sounds nuts, but he is, i know now! I'll have to send it all to you (how i found out) in a pm, because some of it's personal, but if anyone else wants to know i guess i can tell ya. He IS there!!! I was like Holy fucken shit!

Prayers don't affect anything more than voodoo curses or tarrot cards.
