Back when I was in college, I went to a grocery store and bought a couple of things that came to $1.98. I gave the cashier two one-dollar bills, and she, apparently bamboozled by me (why, I'll never know), put the two ones in the till, shut it, then opened it up again and gave me the same two ones back, smiling, gaze never leaving me. I had to give it back to her, and wait almost fifteen seconds before she got the memo.

I don't think that ever happened to me or if it did, I wasn't aware, I have a bad habit of just jamming the change into my pocket and sorting out later. Unless it was over 10 dollars, I probably wouldn't have noticed.

my karma is worth more than pocket change

Unless its a bank error in my favour, it would give good karma to the bank ;)

I would return it. It's the cashier who would have to pay the difference out of her/his pocket.

Yes because I used to be a cashier. I would never purposely cause a cashier to get a write-up.

At Christmas time the Teller gave me and extra 50 dollar bill.

I gave it right back knowing at the end of the day she would have to replace it with her own money.
