So, Smorkum, they're a little like we used to be, 1,345,897,399 years ago.

We've only been around as Homo sapiens for less than a quarter of a million years. In the time table of human accomplishments, we've gone from horse drawn buggies and root tonics to traveling into space and tampering with our genetics in just over the last 200 of those years. I think we're just getting started.

(just waiting to stand the Last Watch over the species. Why *else* do you think I'm here? The air quality?)

I would like to think that some of us are. Humans of the future will probably look back on this era and laugh their big, bulbous heads off.
I dont think theres any reason to assume that any alien form of life would NOT have the same animal instincts that human beings have evolved as a means to survive. Even barbarians can learn to live one another, its the non-barbarians that need to be worried.
