A regressive tax? Is this a real question?

im not sure how it works there, but here you start paying taxes on anything over 8500/year, after that 13% seems reasonable, way better than what i pay (40%) IMO i think all taxes should be a sales tax of 25% across the board, when you spend money on non essecials you pay, if you spend nothing all your life you pay when you die.

I'm really not sure anymore. When I first heard Forbes push this idea, I liked it. Neil Boortz, a nutjob radio-talk host here in Atlanta, and John Linder, a Republican Congressman, have published a novel touting a similar tax program, and I liked it too, in the beginning. Now, I can still see ways that the rich can get away with paying less tax. They can go to Mexico or Canada to do their buying, and get around it. The poor don't have that luxury.

I'm beginning to think that any tax change touted as being fair is a covert way for the rich to ƒu¢k us all in the checkbooks.
