It's sort of like what Hegel says thesis gives rise to antithesis and eventually they combined to make something new. Todays rebels influence the establishment so much that they become one with it.
I saw the Sex Pistols when they did the reunion tour in the late 90's. In my opinion, reforming was a betrayal to the very movement they’d spawned. They where together for a short time, splitting up with anger and chaos. In other words, the 'perfect' punk rock career. Short, vulgar and very much to the point. Seeing 4 middle aged men, with pot bellies, singing about Anarchy kind of spoilt the image for me.
