Try focussing on the importance of the thing it is you have to say. It's more important than everyone in the room combined. Including (if I might be so bold to say) YOU. You're a naturally humble guy, Larry. I've come to know you this way. Tap into that humility, and remember that what you have to say is separate from yourself. It's an homage to all the victims who have and will suffer from this terrible travesty of justice. You go man! You can do it!
^ego (does not) = confidence try not to think about yourself; but, rather, the message. You have a passion about this topic, or you wouldn't be involved in the organization in the first place.

Me and public speaking? As Simon would say, "Dreadful. Simply awful". At least you have some time to prepare, you could make some notes of the key points you want to cover, or use cue cards. Even if you don't use them on the day, just the thought of having them with you will help.
I used to be that way, too. Now I would think more about what to say than how people think of me.
I don't believe in naked advice. There are better strategies like deep breathe/relaxation, being glad of the nerves as it will give you greater energy and focus. Think back to one of your greatest presetations, how you felt and get into that moment and take it on stage. Every speaker gets nervous and accepts and uses it.
